Literary Dinner Party Tag!6:03 PM
I was tagged by Jess to do the Literary Dinner Party Tag! This is my first ever tag on my blog so I hope that you enjoy! The idea of this tag is that you are hosting a Literary Dinner Party and are allowed to invite 10 guests who have to fit in each category! Anyway, let's get onto the questions.
1. A character who can cook/likes to cook.
This was quite a hard one for me because I couldn't really think of many characters that cook. The only one that came to mind is one which is from a series that I'm not that much of a fan of (don't kill me) and that's Isabelle from the mortal instruments. Obviously she can't cook, but she seems to enjoy cooking because she continues to do it despite every ones comments!
2. A character who has money to fund the party.
Cadence Sinclair from the book we were liars by E. Lockhart, of any of the Sinclair family really, they have this huge house that they go to over the summer and have their own island, if that's not rich I don't know what is!
3. A character who might cause a scene.
Pat from The Silver Linings Playbook by Matthew Quick, he has some... anger issues and probably would be most likely to cause a scene if something was said to him that he didn't like, especially about his wife, Nikki.
4. An amusing character.
Jimmy from It's kind of a funny story by Ned Vizzini, obviously he has a mental illness but the way him and Craig eventually connected and the things he sometimes said just made me smile. He'd definitely be coming to my dinner party!
5. A character who is super social/popular.
Wren from Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell, she is obviously the complete opposite of her twin sister, always going out partying and meeting people, she's the first that came to mind anyway.
6. A villain.
Oh gosh, this is quite a difficult one, I'm not sure as to what counts as a "villain" I suppose the bad guy? In that case I will go with Hannibal Lecter, I've only read Red Dragon in this series and I absolutely adored his character, he'd be one to watch out for though, definitely wouldn't let him do the cooking! (oh damn just realised he likes to cook... But I don't fancy having human flesh for my dinner thanks.)
7. A couple (doesn't have to be romantic).
I'm just going to go with an obvious one. Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell, I want them both there, I imagine they'd be so sweet and lovely just happy to be spending time together that it would just make me happy. So yes, definitely those two.
8. A hero/heroine.
Percy Jackson. I've not read the book yet but i love the films so much I can't imagine not loving his character, plus I'm a sucker for Greek Mythology, who wouldn't want the son of Poseidon at their dinner party?
9. An under-appreciated character.
Even though there are quite a few tumblr posts on this topic, I still feel like this character is underappreciated generally so I'm going to use him anyway and thats Isaac from The Fault in our Stars by John Green. Because the story revolves around Augustus and Hazel he's a little bit forgotten sometimes but I love him and think he's amazing.
10. A character of your choosing.
Any character that I want you say? Hmm. Okay, this is probably going to sound quite strange but I would love to have Winston from 1984 by George Orwell, it's my all time favourite book so what dinner party would be complete without him?!
So, I hope you enjoyed this tag! I'm going to tag these wonderful people:
If you guys have done it, I apologise but I would love to see your answers to these questions!
Who would you want at your dinner party?
