What does 2015 bring?

12:30 AM

I know you are probably going to think this is a pretty boring post but I felt like this had to be said rather than me just jumping about and making changes without any notice whatsoever! So with the new year coming up, I want to make a few changes.

Firstly, I want to carry on with my organisation in my university work, I've been working so hard to keep weeks ahead in my work and to make sure I do the work to the best of my ability, I want this to continue.

Secondly, I want to bring my organisation over into my blog, I want to write post regularly and schedule them so you guys have something to read, I want to plan out my posts better and try and get some original ones in there.

Furthermore, I want to write more about what I love, I never intended this blog to just be about books, I wanted to write about everything I love; games, beauty, psychology and that is exactly what I am going to try and do next year, there will be a mixture of things and hopefully you guys will enjoy that! (And for those of you that have said you really love my serial killer Sunday, it is coming back!)

Stacking the Shelves #5: Christmas Edition 2014

know that a lot of people are doing this and it's incredibly unoriginal of me but let's face it, we all like to have a nosey at what books people got for Christmas! It's my favourite post to read and favourite booktube video to watch so I thought that I would show you all exactly what I got! I want to start off by saying I am in no way bragging, nor did I expect this amount of stuff that I got, I am so lucky to have my family and friends both online and offline and I love and appreciate every one of them. I decided to do it in the typical stacking the shelves style but I wanted to make sure you all knew that this is my official Christmas haul, I hope you enjoy it!

Top Ten Books of 2014

2:37 PM

I know you are probably thinking, where the hell have you been?! I swear, I have an excuse, I have been on work placement for the past week in a disabled school which means I get up, go to the school, come home, have tea, shower, read and write notes and go bed. I have to write a 3,000 word report on this placement so I need to proritise making sure I get all the information I need! But, I wanted to share with you a post that a lot of people are going to be doing! This was recently a Top Ten Tuesday but as I was busy I didn't get the chance to do it, so I'm doing it now anyway! Now these books may not have come out this year and they are from a range of genres but all in all, I enjoyed them so much that they had to be on here. I'm going to set this one out a little differently, one book at a time, starting with my least favourite at number 10 to my favourite book of this year. Let's begin.

10. I am not a Serial Killer by Dan Wells

John Wayne Cleaver is dangerous, and he knows it.

He’s spent his life doing his best not to live up to his potential.

He’s obsessed with serial killers, but really doesn’t want to become one. So for his own sake, and the safety of those around him, he lives by rigid rules he’s written for himself, practicing normal life as if it were a private religion that could save him from damnation.

Dead bodies are normal to John. He likes them, actually. They don’t demand or expect the empathy he’s unable to offer. Perhaps that’s what gives him the objectivity to recognize that there’s something different about the body the police have just found behind the Wash-n-Dry Laundromat---and to appreciate what that difference means.

Now, for the first time, John has to confront a danger outside himself, a threat he can’t control, a menace to everything and everyone he would love, if only he could.

Bookish Gift Guide!

2:43 PM

Let's face it, buying gifts can sometimes be a gigantic pain! Especially when you have a book friend who owns a hell of a lot of books and you don't know what to buy them or if they'll already own the book (not everybody has an amazon wishlist!). So I've compiled a guide of things that you could buy a booklover who may have every book or even if you just want to treat yourself. I spent quite a long time on this post so I hope that you enjoy it and I hope that it helps you at this holiday season, when it comes to birthdays, you can always use it too!

Brace yourselves, this is going to be a long post.

I'm sure that for a lot of you, you have already thought about this one but you want to get something a bit different, something that they will really love. So I have a couple of suggestions for you on this one!

Top Ten New-To-Me Authors I Read In 2014

10:25 AM

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish
Welcome to another Top Ten Tuesday! This is a topic I have actually struggled to narrow down because I tend to be the kind of person that reads a lot of stand alones which means reading a lot of authors that I have never read or heard of before! But I did my best to narrow it down.. Onto the books!

It's officially acceptable to listen to Christmas songs yay! So here is my first post of December, decided to go with a little bit of a book haul as I feel like I haven't done one for a while and I have bought a couple of books *cough* and obviously with Christmas coming up I will have quite a lot! I'm also hoping to finish a Christmas Gift Guide soon but wow it's taking me a lot longer than I thought and I have university work to get done and a work placement to do *sigh* I'm going to try to write out a few posts and schedule them, don't want to neglect you guys! Anyway, on to the books.
