My Day in Wonderland

12:00 AM

Incase you didn't know, I recently went to the Lewis Carroll Centre in Daresbury, Cheshire, England. I live in Cheshire myself not too far from Daresbury and I went along with the lovely Meg and Ren. The centre is that back of a church where Lewis Carrolls Dad was actually a vicar. There is a little gift shop within the church, first editions of alice in wonderland and a beautiful stain glass window with the characters from wonderland at the bottom. I wanted to share the pictures from the day because there aren't many around on the internet and we didn't know what to expect. Incase you didn't know, to make this less confusing, Lewis Carroll's real name is Charles Lutwidge Dodgson (1832-1898) and Alice was inspired by a real young girl called Alice Liddell.

Stain Glass window with famous characters along the bottom such as the hare, dodo, caterpillar and the mad hatter.

List of previous vicars of the church, here we can see Charles Dodgson (Lewis Carroll's father) was vicar in 1827.

An amazing drawing of the Lewis Carroll world, I wanted a huge poster of it on my wall!

Board about Lewis Carroll's love for photography, you can see the feet of Alice Liddell at the top.

Entrance to the centre

Several editions of Alice in wonderland, including a first edition and editions from all around the world.
I had such a great day and it was so interesting to see and to visit.

I LOOOOVE Alice in Wonderland, it's an obsession of mine to own as many editions as possible (now up to 15), and I had no idea the Lewis Carroll Center even existed. I'm so insanely jealous of how many prominent and historical authors originated in the UK, you've got such a rich history. I've never caught the traveling bug, but I'd actually love to do a book tour of the UK. Harry Potter, all the old bookshops. I'm almost drooling on my keyboard just thinking about it.

Awesome posts Becks, absolutely loved it! <3

    1. That made me laugh xD

You should definitely come and visit so we can go all around England to bookish places because I've never really been anywhere because I'm up north and there isn't much in the place of books up this way! I am going to London for the first time in August though and I intend to make the most of that!

Thanks so much Kelly! Glad you liked it :D
